01 May 2009

We are trying to spread the ‘Green’ message to students around the school and the Club has given Assemblies in Junior and Senior School. We are striving to earn ‘leaves’ which will enable us to win solar panels for the school and are going a variety of activities towards our goal of 104,000 leaves. Presently we have 43,000 and would like parents to do the British Gas energy saving survey as it will help them and earn leaves for the school (www.britishgas.co.uk/esr)

Our Shell students have been playing Generation Green eco games and winning too. They have earned the school over 2600 leaves and have received prizes of solar powered MP4 players. So far there have been 26 Solihull winners in this nationwide competition in 3 months. Some of the students involved are Ben Piggin, Chris Bevan, Hasan Ali, George Gamlin, Ewan Waddell and Robert Comer, to mention just a few.

Can we encourage people to look at the web site http://www.generationgreen.co.uk and see what we have been up to by logging on to the Solihull profile.
