Solihull School

Clare Balding - Guest of Honour

Speach Day 6

28 Sep 2007

Clare Balding, one of Britain’s most popular TV presenters, was guest of honour at Solihull School's annual speech day.

The 2003 Royal Television Society Sports Presenter of the Year, who fronts all the racing coverage as well as Crufts and the Lord Mayor’s Show on BBC TV, presented prizes and addressed past and present pupils in the co-educational school’s Bushell Hall.

The speech day celebrated a 100 per cent A-level pass rate this year from a record 140 candidates, with 82.3 per cent achieving grades at A or B - and a staggering 52.7 per cent at grade A.

Clare joined the chairman of the governing body, Graham Hughes, fellow governors and guests, the headmaster Phillip Griffiths and senior staff at the glittering event that also included recitals by a number of music students.
