Gap Year & Year in Industry
Gap Year & Year in Industry
A Gap Year = a break between School and University or, less likely, between University & paid employment.
It offers the chance to travel, do voluntary work, earn money, etc.
One Gap Year opportunity is provided by the Year In Industry scheme – whereby students can work [and be paid] in industry for up to a year before going to University.
Gap Year Fair - a biennial presentation in School available to pupils [&/or their parents] from the Upper Fifth, Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth whereby organisations offering placements advertise what is available. The next Fair takes place in September 2008.
