Head of Department: Mr J J Nickson
The Art Department is focused on providing a creative environment, where freedom of expression is harnessed and directed by a team of enthusiastic and highly motivated staff who encourage a wide range of activities within an atmosphere of trust and support.
The development of individual artistic identities is based on an understanding of the importance of visual research and practical experience with visiting artists and craftspeople.
The Department offers a range of courses, including Art and Design, Photography, Textiles and Three-dimensional Design and firmly believes that these core areas of study play a vital role in nurturing individuality, technical skill and self-expression within the School’s balanced curriculum.
For pupils wishing to specialise examination entry is offered at Entry Level, GCSE and A’ Level.
