French Trips
The Modern Languages Department strongly encourages all its students to take advantage of the many trips which we offer in order to enable students to assimilate and practise the languages they are learning.
For French there are a variety of trips.
Year 7s may choose to spend 5 days at a Château in Normandy in February. Boys & Girls enjoy a variety of activities all of which are conducted in French, they get to try a variety of French food and use their French at meal times too.
Years 9-13 have the chance to go to Montpellier in the south of France in February. They stay with host families where they are able to practise their French and learn about French family life. During the mornings there are 3 hours of lessons; these focus particularly on exam topics for 6th form students. in the afternoons there are activities & visits.
There is also a work experience visit to Normandy after AS exams in the summer term.
6th form students are advised that a period spent in France is vital to success in AS & A2 French.
