Concert Orchestra
This year went well for the Concert Orchestra, with performances in two concerts – the St Cecilia on 25th November 2004 and the Commemoration Concert on 25th May 2005. We were able to perform our pieces to a high standard. In the St Cecilia Concert we played The Ash Grove and Country Gardens which are both folk songs arranged by David Stone. At the Commemoration Concert we played Hymn to Joy based on the ‘Ode to Joy’ from Beethoven’s famous 9th Symphony, arranged by Benoy. Alastair Barber led us brilliantly in both performances and, on behalf of all the members of the Concert Orchestra, I should like to thank Ms Dolby for her magnificent efforts throughout the year.
