Symphony Orchestra

This year has been another successful one for the Symphony Orchestra. In the Saint Cecilia Concert in the Christmas term, we performed “Finlandia” by Sibelius. This rousing piece was much enjoyed by everyone, and was even appreciated at its reprise the following morning during assembly!

In the Summer term, Leonie Rainbird-Tilson gave up her position as leader of the orchestra allowing Tim Page to step into the role, while she performed the first movement from Mendelssohn's “Violin Concerto in E Minor”. Her performance was superb and the length of applause she received from the audience on the night clearly showed that everyone really enjoyed it. Thanks must go to Mr Perrins for the work he does with us each week and also to those leaving from the Upper Sixth who have given so much to the orchestra over the years.
