1st XI

This has been a highly successful year for the 1st XI team well led by Tom Bates and Alex Cherry. We have beaten Warwick, Queen Mary's Walsall, King Edward's Camp Hill, Bablake and Newcastle-under-Lyme, drawn with King Edward's School, Birmingham and lost only to Bishop Vesey's and to Sutton H.C. on penalties in the U18 cup. A number of players have developed promisingly and the team as a whole has played with good spirit as well as skill. We are looking forward to the tour to Australia in July 2002.

2nd XI

The players of the 2nd XI have shown themselves to be a very enthusiastic team who have always tried hard and have certainly enjoyed the hockey without producing a set of outstanding results. (Played 13: Won 6: Lost 7). The team has lacked a consistent goal scorer to turn tactical advantage into victories, although Gareth Simpson has worked tirelessly in this direction. Iain Milligan, for the second season as captain, has encouraged his side and together with Charles Hughes has provided much of the attacking flair from midfield. Brian Gough has improved considerably since the start of the year and is becoming a useful goalkeeper.

3rd XI

A shortage of luck has left the 3rd XI with few wins, and few goals in their fixtures. There have been, however, plenty of positive aspects to appreciate and individual players have made excellent progress.

4th XI

The 4th XI have been very successful, having only lost one of their twelve games. The team have great spirit and have played out some heroic draws. In particular, in the matches against KES Birmingham and Warwick the team showed great resilience against tough opposition, thoroughly deserving these two draws.

Under15 XI

The U15 XI enjoyed a very good year suffering just two defeats in their twelve matches.

Under 14 XI

The team made steady progress throughout the season finishing with a 7-0 victory over Bablake. The prospects look good for the tour of Italy next Easter.

Under 13 XI

The U13 Mini Hockey team have won the Warwickshire Mini Tournament winning all 5 of their matches without conceding a goal. The squad was: Rupert Derham, Stuart Gregory, Tom Harrison, Tim Hill, Daniel Strong, William Shipley, George Smeaton, Mallory Percival and Josh Sloane.
