Special Thanks
I would like to thank, Simon Beech, John Kirtland, Alex Henderson, Leslie Gaurett and Mr. Claughton for their frequent service as referees. All that has been achieved this season has only been possible as a result of so many members of staff giving freely of their time to enable such a full and comprehensive programme to function. Messrs. Leonard, Swain, Benge, Covill, Jackson, Moore, Hifle, Bishop, Ginns, Hall–Palmer have given up many hours to ensure that the boys are in the best possible position to perform. I am very grateful to them, the ground staff, the kitchen staff, all parents and supporters for making it a pleasure to be involved !! The rugby Club, I am sure, will join me in thanking Mr Patrick Hall-Palmer and Mr Howard Moore for all their help within
school rugby during their time here. We wish them well as they each take up Head of Department roles in their new schools.
John Hammond, Head Groundsman for the last 32 years retired this year. He has been a magnificent professional throughout his time here. He is a real Gentleman and the Rugby Club wishes him a very long and happy retirement.
John Claughton has also had a huge impact on the health of the Rugby Club during his time here. Whether as a referee, coach, supporter or enthusiast, his presence and interest has been a
tremendous help to all staff and pupils. We wish him, Alexandra, James, Tom and Sam our very best wishes. Solihull School RUFC is certainly in good heart, in good shape and it is with much optimism and confidence that we embark upon season 2005/6.
