Solihull School

Library and Learning Resource Centre

Facilities: Library & Learning

Recent major alterations to Big School have provided a large split-level lending and reference library, two Information Technology rooms each with 27 workstations, and an archive room.

Kent Library itself boasts an impressive assortment of lending materials, from newspapers and magazines to DVDs to internet-enabled handheld PCs, as well as a large collection of books. Staffed by one full-time head librarian, and two part-time librarians, the library offers a place for any pupil to go for some quiet study at any time of the day.

The former Kent Library (inaugurated in 1960 by the Duchess of Kent) has become a staff common room.

As well as the facilities offered by the library, the School has a further 6 dedicated, bookable ICT rooms.

Multi-media facilities are also available in Bushell Hall, the Lecture Theatre, the Junior School Hall and even the Alan Lee Pavilion.
