Attainment Grades
These are awarded three times a year at the end of each of the three terms. Grades are published in a letter at the end of each term and appear on the end of term reports.
Attainment grades measure how three aspects of a pupil’s learning contribute to their academic progress. The three areas are:
- Attitude to tasks set (class / homework)
- Listening skills
- Participation in lessons
Each of these areas will be assessed on a three-point scale:
- 3: Contributing towards academic progress by making the most of ability.
- 2: Contributing towards academic progress but with scope for improvement.
- 1: Current performance limits academic progress.
In addition, the pupils will be assessed on a ten-point scale for level of attainment over the term.
