Music and Sport
In the Middle School the winter games are Rugby and Hockey and in the summer Cricket and Athletics are the main activities. There is, however, a wide range of other activities available during Games afternoons and at other times in the school week; the list includes Tennis, Badminton, Sailing, Squash, Basketball, Cross-country and Swimming and these provide opportunities for Inter House competition for the Cock House trophy as well as the substantial programme of school matches.
Many Middle School pupils take an active part in the general musical activities of the School, by playing instruments in the School Orchestra and groups, or singing in the Chapel Choir and the Choral Society. Several Middle School pupils are usually invited to play in the Orchestra for the Sixth Form Musical Society each year, and these pupils make splendid contributions.
