A-Level Results 2009


No less than 111 pupils in the Sixth Form achieved 3 A grades or more (51 of whom achieved 4 A grades or more). At A2 Level 55 pupils achieved 3 A grades or better.

For the 5th year running the School has achieved an A/B pass rate of over 80%, as well as a 100% A/E pass rate.

Nicola Hudders achieved 5 A grades in Human Biology, Chemistry, Economics, General Studies and Mathematics and will be going to read Medicine at Nottingham University.

Including General Studies at AS Level, the following Upper Six pupils also gained 5 A grades: Richard Brough (Medicine – Oxford), George Haynes (Mathematics – Durham), Leigh Mason (Mathematics with Economics – Exeter/Warwick) and Georgina Rhodes (Management and Spanish – Leeds).

Headmaster, Phillip Griffiths said: I am delighted with yet another excellent set of results – a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our pupils and staff.

At Solihull School we aim to provide an excellent all-round education for our students, and we are delighted with the consistently high standards they achieve. Recent years have seen record-breaking exam results, with pass rates far exceeding the national average. Our average A-Level pass rate over the past six years is 99.7%; over the same period, 81.4% of our students achieved A or B grade passes.
