Solihull Singers Win Four Titles in Prestigious Festival

Solihull School pupils won in four categories at the prestigious Northfield Festival of Music and Speech, held on Saturday (9th May). 
 
Nine pupils, ranging from Third Form to Sixth Form, took part in festival, which sees people of all ages across the country competing in various categories from instrument solos, to prose reading. 
 
Eleanor Gooderidge (IIIrd) came first in Folk Song 10-13 years with her version of The Oak and the AshChristina Bate (IVth) took home titles for both Favourite Song 12-14 year and Musical Theatre 12-14 years, singing The Wizard and A Lovely Leggy PotionJoseph Wright (UVth) performed The Three Ravens and won first prize in Folk Song 14-17 years. 
 
Pamela Davies, Singing Teacher at the School said: “They all had a wonderful day, performed extremely well and benefited from a very good adjudicator, David Kirby-Ashmore, who has a brilliant sense of humour and imparted an enormous amount of good advice to the competitors.”
