Solihull School

Nursery

We are strong believers that a good Early Years education has a huge impact on life outcomes. The first five years of a child’s life are vitally important as they are the foundation that shapes a child’s future health, happiness and development.

We are fortunate to have a beautiful site on the Saint Martin’s campus and in our Nursery we make use of it every day.  As well as having two well equipped Nursery classrooms and an outdoor classroom, each week we also visit Forest School, enjoy PE, have a swimming lesson in our pool and a music lesson with our Head of Music.

In Nursery the children enjoy an exciting play-based curriculum, with a mix of child and teacher-led activities. When they are ready, they take their first steps in learning to read and write. We will introduce your child to phonics, reading and number and topic-based learning. Our bright and secure classrooms are stimulating, with lots of equipment for dressing up fun, messy and sensory free play, painting, using iPads, role-play, reading and creativity.

We involve all our pupils in school life, so even our youngest pupils have opportunities to participate in sports day, charity events and the Christmas nativity too. Guaranteeing a 1:8 adult to child ratio, we ensure that each child receives plenty of individual attention and has every opportunity to thrive.
