Letter to Parents - Homes for Ukraine School Support
Dear Parents
I would like to thank you for your generosity and compassion regarding our humanitarian appeal for funds and items for Ukrainian people, many of whom have very sadly been displaced from their homes and country. The sum of money raised so far and the volume of donations have been truly remarkable. Many staff and pupils have been involved in boxing up the mountain of goods received from Solihull families.
As you will be aware, the UK Government is now encouraging us to offer a room or property to refugees fleeing the war, and I know that many of you will respond positively where you can to this important request. If in doing so you would like our support, for example, helping a school-age Ukrainian child staying with you or in one of your properties, then please ask. We will do all we can to provide academic, pastoral and co-curricular support to those living in our area. Of course, we all hope that Ukrainians can return home to be reunited with loved ones, friends, pets and much more, but until such time we will endeavour to provide school-based services to the best of our abilities.
If we can help you to help Ukrainian families, then please contact Mr Emmet, Assistant Head Pastoral, on emmett@solsch.org.uk, and we will assist in coming up with a plan.
Once again, thank you for being so kind and caring, and do get in touch if we can help with the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
Best wishes
David EJJ Lloyd
