Getting your career off to the best possible start has never been more important than it is for today's young people. Pupils and former pupils at Solihull School can benefit from many years of former pupils and parents who have gone before them, and have become successful leaders in their field. The Solihull School Careers Network aims to offer careers support and advice to all current and former pupils, utilising the vast network of alumni, parents and other supporters.
You can support our Careers Network in a number of ways:
Careers Mentoring: Offer advice about your area of careers expertise to current and recent pupils
University Mentoring: Offer advice and support on the University you are studying at and on the course you have chosen (recent leavers only)
Business Mentoring: Offer advice to current pupils and recent leavers thinking about setting up their own business
Careers Lunches: Meet a small group of sixth form students over lunch to discuss your area of careers expertise
Work Experience: Offer short work placements to current and former pupils
Work Place Visits: Provide opportunities for one day or less visits to your work place by current pupils
Internships: Offer a paid internship/gap year opportunity to pupils just leaving Solihull
Interviews: Support the School with practice interviews and advise on interview techniques
Information: provide examples of CVs, case studies and biographies
Young Enterprise: contribute to Junior and Senior School activities
We also support former pupils now at University or in their first years of work with careers guidance and contacts.
