solihull preparatory school - nursery

Children may join the Nursery in September following their third birthday.

Children are required to attend the Nursery for a minimum of five mornings per week (three hours per day). Please note that we do not regard this as a sufficient amount of time to fully prepare them for entry into Reception, therefore, it is compulsory for children to also attend the Lunchtime Session each day during the Easter and summer terms (increasing to 4.5 hours per day).

Additionally, during the summer term children will also be required to attend a minimum of two full days per week to further prepare them for a smooth transition to Reception (totalling 27.5 hours per week, i.e. 3 x 4.5 hours + 2 x 7 hours). You may wish to choose additional sessions over and above the minimum requirements.

Following admission, further ongoing informal assessments will take place throughout the Nursery year to ensure that Solihull is the right school for your son or daughter. Parents/guardians will be notified during the Christmas term if there are any immediate concerns.
