Academic Enrichment (Stretch & Challenge)

Academic Enrichment at Solihull Prep School is exciting; it is about imagination, discovery and challenge, wonder and awe; an opportunity to extend the creative learning that goes on throughout the curriculum and to develop lifelong interests and passions.

Recognising the considerable natural ability of our pupils, we seek to stretch and challenge them through the provision of a diverse and extensive co-curricular programme that is carefully tailored to the age and maturity of the children. Through it, pupils have the opportunity to develop new interests, follow their current passions, work collaboratively with others and learn practical skills of critical thinking, problem-solving and research. Their creativity and independence are unleashed as they learn not only to increase their knowledge of a subject beyond the requirements of the curriculum, but also to expand their ability to apply that knowledge in new situations.

We offer a range of different clubs and societies aimed at stretching and challenging pupils of all ages and abilities. There is also a wide range of orchestras, choirs, musical ensembles, sport, drama and art clubs that help talented pupils to flourish. Other clubs that provide academic enrichment vary each year, but typically include puzzles and board games, Spanish Language and Culture, Debating, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) investigations and book clubs.
