Sixth Form student meets Princess Anne

Solihull School student Leticia Salmon was invited to attend the Young Achievers Reception at Buckingham Palace on 15th March, to meet and talk to Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal.

The Young Achievers Reception is an annual event for St John Ambulance cadets who have made outstanding contributions to society using First Aid training. Last year the event was opened to CCF and ACF cadets who have excelled in emergency circumstances. Sergeant Leticia Salmon was one of five cadets nominated for attendance because of her quick thinking when an adult volunteer suffered a stroke at the end of a white water rafting trip. She quickly identified the signs of a stroke and ensured medical attention was directed correctly.

Princess Anne took the time to speak to each cadet, particularly those from the CCF or ACF, to hear about their exceptional achievements. When asked about the event, Leticia said “It was a fantastic day, lots of fun and one that I definitely won't forget!”
