  • Value-added: making a difference for every pupil

    Excellent value-added education

As proud as we are of our excellent academic results, what matters most to us is whether each individual pupil has achieved their full potential – and the role Solihull School has played in supporting them. We know how important this is to parents too.

The difference a school makes to the education of each pupil is tracked nationally. Known as ‘value-added’, it compares the GCSE results of every child at Solihull School with the results of every other young person taking GCSEs around the whole country and compares them to how they were performing at age 11.

The 2025 results reveal that Solihull is in the top 1% of all schools for the progress pupils make between Year 7 and Year 11.

Two years later, the A Level results of these same young people are compared again, and they reveal that Sixth Formers at Solihull make more progress than at 90% of schools and colleges nationally.

We are extremely proud of these findings as they tell us we are making a tangible difference to educational outcomes of the young people in our care. If you want to know more about value-added at Solihull School, please do ask us when you next visit.
