CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

STRETCH & CHALLENGE

We enter students into various regional and national competitions, such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants Business competition, the CIPFA Sixth Form Games, and the IFS Student Investor Share market trading game. We also encourage our students to enter various national essay writing competitions, as well as participating in our Young Enterprise National competition.  The department also run clinics at lunchtime three times a week and offer an extension discussion group called “EconPlus” to allow investigation and discussion beyond the curriculum.

DESTINATIONS

The majority of student who elect to study Economics or Business at A Level at Solihull ultimately go on to study a degree in this subject at university. In recent years, students have gone on to read pure Economics, Economics combined with either Finance, Management, History or a Business Management degree.  Students have been offered places at a wide variety of universities including many Russell Group universities, as well as Oxford and Cambridge.
