  • Dr S. Sawicki

The department teaches in a suite of rooms on the top floor of the George Hill building, all of which are equipped with interactive white boards and audio visual facilities.

Sixth Form

We follow the AQA specification for both Business Studies and Economics. The two subjects can be studied separately; both provide recognised pathways to undergraduate courses at university and practical application for a wide variety of professions.

Co-curricular Activities

Stretch & Challenge

We enter students into various regional and national competitions, such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants Business competition, the CIPFA Sixth Form Games, and the IFS Student Investor Share market trading game. We also encourage our students to enter various national essay writing competitions, as well as participating in our Young Enterprise National competition.

Trips & Visits

Students can attend revision courses delivered by senior examiners from AQA. We are currently in the process of establishing a variety of links with local organisations.

In recent years students have gone on to read Economics, Business Studies and a wide variety of related courses at Russell Group universities, as well as Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
