Solihull School

Library

The Preparatory School library is a welcoming and calm environment where we aim to inspire a love of reading in all.  Children aged 3 - 11 can come and find a wide variety of books that interest them, whether it be picture books, graphic novels, a relaxed novel, non-fiction books or to read our weekly journals and children’s newspapers. The library is arranged into zones that are appropriate to all age groups to facilitate children being able to enjoy browsing for a book and to select one appropriate to their interests and age. In the Junior School pupils enjoy being able to visit the library at lunchtimes to change their books and in Alice House, the children benefit from a weekly session. Whilst in the library, the children can make use of IT to research books, authors and use our cataloguing system. They can also relax on our ‘David Walliams’ themed book bench and spot their favourite characters!
