In her first assembly since joining Solihull Prep School as Deputy Head (Pastoral), Mrs Bradshaw shared one of her favourite books - ‘Kindness is my Superpower’ by Alicia Ortego - explaining to pupils that kindness is a quality that she values greatly, and encouraging them to explore how powerful and impactful kindness can be.
“We reflected upon and shared recent acts of kindness that they have both given and received and how this can make people feel,” said Mrs Bradshaw.
“Each class, together with their form tutor, was encouraged to interact to think collaboratively about how powerful and impactful an act of kindness can be, particularly in terms of happiness and wellbeing and how it strengthens social connections, boosts physical health, fosters empathy and is contagious – creating a ripple effect.
Mrs Brashaw encouraged all Prep School pupils to be involved in this positive ripple effect and posed the question: “How are you going to use your kindness superpower and be the best version of yourself?”
